Artist Statement
My art is a reflection of my personal interest in using abstraction to capture my experiences to convey micro- and macro- level concepts in science, nature and the environment. My paintings serve as a record or collection of where I have physically been in time and space, from the microscopic world of neurons to the macroscopic level wonders of our national parks and man-made footprints of our urban environments. I use abstraction to translate and share my experiences and inspirations using color, shapes, lines, patterns, and textures.
My extensive travels across nearly all states in the U.S., as well as to various countries in Europe, Asia, Canada, the Caribbean, and South America, have profoundly influenced my artistic vision. These experiences have immersed me in a rich tapestry of cultural arts and the natural beauty of both urban and rural landscapes. The diverse encounters I’ve had continue to inspire my vibrant and abstract artistic creations.
